Shenandoah Ag Tech, LLC was founded in the heart of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley with a clear mission: to empower local farmers and agricultural businesses to reach their full potential through tailored software solutions.
Established in 2022 by Wesley Harper, a seasoned software professional with over a decade of experience working for industry-leading software and technology companies, Shenandoah Ag Tech combines cutting-edge expertise with a deep understanding of the agricultural industry. Today, our expert team designs and develops custom technology solutions that meet the unique needs of farmers and agribusinesses.
But we’re more than just tech experts—we’re farmers, too. Wesley grew up on and now operates a 127-acre beef cattle and hay farm right here in the Shenandoah Valley. It’s this firsthand experience that inspired the idea to merge two passions: agriculture and technology. By addressing everyday challenges in the agricultural world, we’re bridging the gap between tradition and innovation.
Our motto says it all: “This is where Agriculture and Technology come together.”
The Family History
The Harper family's legacy of innovation began over a century ago with their great-great-grandfather, Jacob Harper. In the early 1900s, Jacob installed gas-powered generators to charge large battery banks, which he used to power a few electric light bulbs in his farmhouse at night. At a time when power lines had yet to reach the Shenandoah Valley, Jacob became one of the first in the area to embrace electric lighting—a true pioneer of progress.
More than 100 years later, Wesley Harper followed in his footsteps, earning a degree in Computer and Electrical Technologies and working for cutting-edge technology companies while continuing to help operate the family’s beef cattle farm. With 15 years of experience developing world-class software and hands-on agricultural expertise, Wesley combined his two passions—technology and farming—and founded Shenandoah Ag Tech, LLC.
Today, we are proud to carry on the Harper tradition of innovation, serving the agricultural community with forward-thinking solutions. Just like Jacob Harper “turned on the lights” for his farm all those years ago, Shenandoah Ag Tech is here to illuminate new possibilities for farmers and agribusinesses in the modern age.
